SVC-T07 · POWER QUALITY & HARMONIC AUDIT

Power Quality Analysis & Harmonic Audits in Pakistan.

TransfoLine delivers certified Power Quality Analysis & Harmonic Studies across Pakistan using industry-standard Fluke 1777 Class A power quality analyzers. We identify voltage sags, micro-transients, harmonic distortion (THD up to the 50th order), poor power factor, and unbalance to protect sensitive industrial machinery and eliminate utility penalties.

  EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

What is a Power Quality & Harmonic Audit?

Power quality analysis is the multi-day capture and analysis of electrical waveforms in 3-phase industrial power systems. By deploying high-speed Class A power quality loggers, our electrical engineers measure voltage variations, current spikes, power factor, and harmonic pollution generated by non-linear loads (such as variable frequency drives VFDs, induction furnaces, and UPS systems).

01

Harmonic Analysis (THD_V & THD_I)

Comprehensive spectrum breakdown from fundamental 50Hz up to 50th harmonic (2500Hz). Detects dominant 3rd, 5th, 7th, 11th, and 13th harmonics causing transformer overheating and neutral cable burning.

02

Voltage Sag, Swell & Transient Logging

Captures sub-cycle voltage sags caused by heavy motor starting or grid switching that cause automated PLC controllers, robotic arms, and CNC machinery to trip unexpectedly.

  AUDIT PARAMETERS

Key Parameters Logged During Power Quality Audits

PQ.01 Voltage & Current Harmonics (IEEE 519) Individual harmonic order spectrum analysis and Total Demand Distortion (TDD) calculation to size Active Harmonic Filters (AHF) or detuned reactors. Harmonic Spectrum
PQ.02 True Power Factor & Reactive Power (kVAR) Displacement PF and True PF logging under shifting factory production loads to optimize Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) capacitor banks. Power Factor & APFC
PQ.03 Phase Voltage & Current Unbalance Quantifying negative-sequence and zero-sequence unbalance percentages that cause 3-phase induction motors to derate and overheat. Phase Unbalance
PQ.04 Neutral Conductor Current & Triplens Measuring additive 3rd and 9th triplen harmonic currents circulating in neutral conductors of 4-wire systems feeding computer servers and LED lighting. Neutral Overload

04   POWER QUALITY FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

Engineering advice on power stability and harmonic mitigation.

DURATION How long does a power quality logging audit take?

Standard industrial power quality logging is conducted over a continuous 24-hour to 7-day period to record a complete operating cycle across multiple shifts, peak production hours, and non-working hours.

SOLUTION Can TransfoLine help resolve high harmonic distortion?

Yes. Based on our audit report, we design, size, and supply Active Harmonic Filters (AHF), detuned capacitor banks, and harmonic mitigation reactors to bring your system into 100% IEEE 519 compliance.
