IND-03 / Steel Sector

Induction Furnace Transformers — engineered for steel mills & heavy cyclic shocks.

Steel re-rolling mills and induction melting plants operate under the most violent electrical conditions in Pakistan. TransfoLine builds and rewinds heavy-duty Induction Furnace Transformers (500 kVA to 10 MVA) engineered to withstand recurring scrap cave-in short circuits and extreme high-current thermal surges.

04   Answers

Frequently asked questions.

Common questions about this service. Call our engineering team for anything else.

BURNOUT CAUSES Why do standard distribution transformers burn out in steel melting plants?

Induction furnaces subject transformers to continuous high-order harmonics, extreme cyclic thermal loads, and repeated high-current short-circuits during scrap cave-ins. Standard transformers lack the reinforced mechanical clamping and cooling required to withstand these electro-dynamic forces.

COOLING What cooling method is best for heavy furnace transformers?

For transformers rated 2.5 MVA and above, Oil Forced Water Forced (OFWF) or Oil Forced Air Forced (OFAF) cooling systems are used to rapidly dissipate thermal heat and maintain oil temperatures below critical oxidation limits.

REWINDING Does TransfoLine rewind and repair damaged furnace transformers?

Yes. We operate heavy workshop lifting cranes, hydraulic winding machines, and Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) baking ovens to rewind furnace transformers using 99.99% pure electrolytic copper with full performance warranties.
